I LOVE TOFU!! It might be weird, especially because Im not even a vegetarian but no joke I would usually rather eat tofu than meat! I love the texture of tofu, the taste of tofu, the adaptability of tofu, ahhh the list could go on. Its one of those situations that my brother would probably say "well why dont you marry it"!!! In all seriousness though, if you love tofu as much as I do or even if you hate it, you must absolutely try this!!!
So without further ado, may I present to you THE ONLY WAY TO COOK TOFU:
The Ingredients: Firm or Extra Firm Tofu, Coconut Oil, Salt, Pepper and whatever other spices you want |
Drain the tofu and cut it into slabs about 1 in thick |
Put the tofu in a kitchen towel, set something heavy on top to drain it! Do this for 15-40 min. (the longer the better) |
Chop the tofu into 1 in cubes. |
Add 2 Tbs of coconut oil to a hot pan and let it "melt" |
Add tofu to pan and let it sizzle!!
You want the tofu to be browned on each side! |
Drain on a paper towel. |

These tasty morsels are fabulous on their own as a snack. Or you can add them to pretty much any dish imaginable, I particularly like them in salads and stir frys.
YUMMM!!
I hope you enjoy this super easy, fun, fast, and delicious treat!!!
jeezy creezy, my love for tofu also knows no bounds. i had it once with slice mango, carrots, sesame seeds, fresh peppers all in a sweet sauce and it was bloody amazing!
ReplyDeletetoo bad i have never thought to take it camping..now i might!
I adore tofu! Unfortunately, I haven't eaten it in FOREVER! I used to follow a vegan lifestyle and I ate lots of tofu. I love to cook it with soy sauce and crushed red pepper (amoungst other spices). I really want to cook some now, it's been a year or two...

You are a woman after my own heart...or stomach in this case! I love tofu and used to have a really hard time getting my husband to eat it. However, since we moved to Korea and the cuisine has tofu hidden in pretty much EVERYthing he has been more open to tofu for dinner. I think I might try this as a way to get him to eat it at home! Great share. :)
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered how to cook tofu! This is so simple. Theres nothing better than a delicious AND healthy snack.
